Tuesday is reserved for community-specific engagement. With no formal Summit programming, communities can use this time intentionally—for meetings, planning, or connection within their own groups.
The Summit kicks off with a full-group plenary in Bailey Hall at 3:00 p.m. featuring Associate Vice President for Alumni Affairs, Michelle Vaeth ’98, and another notable Cornellian speaker. The afternoon continues with an expo showcasing student and faculty projects, groups, and research, plus interactive experiences designed to spark connection and conversation. Morning and evening are open for community-specific gatherings, allowing participants to connect in smaller, identity- or interest-based groups.
Morning and afternoon concurrent sessions will give attendees opportunities to engage with a range of topics, interests, and formats from across campus. Between sessions, there will be dedicated time for community-specific events, so participants may further connect with their volunteer communities. The day concludes with the Joint Annual Meeting & State of the University Address at 5:30 p.m. in the new Meinig Fieldhouse. This event is open to all Summit attendees and will be followed by a reception.
The final day of the Summit brings everyone together. Morning programming flows into special lunches with College & Unit deans and directors from 11:30 a.m., open to all Summit attendees, before our group closing session at 1:00 p.m. The afternoon provides community-specific time for deeper, smaller-group connections, and/or community business. As Summit sessions wind down, Homecoming festivities begin, highlighted by the drone and laser light show at 9:00 p.m. on Schoellkopf Field.
