On August 23, India became the fourth nation to safely land a robotic spacecraft on the surface of the Moon. Cornell's Spacecraft Planetary Imaging Facility (SPIF) hosted a landing party, “so that we can all enjoy historic developments in space exploration together,” says SPIF director Alexander G. Hayes. SPIF's mission is to ensure that cosmic discoveries are accessible to everyone.
