Come face to face with over 250 real spider specimens in Spiders — From Fear to Fascination. Cornell's resident arachnologist Dr. Linda S. Rayor helped design this exhibit, which will travel to Atlanta's Fernbank Museum of Natural History and to San Antonio's Witte Museum in 2024. “No other spider museum exhibit has come close to being as transformative or as fun as this show is!” says Rayor. “Where else do you see the visitors dancing with jumping spiders?”

When Cornell researcher Jordan Boersma traveled to Papua New Guinea’s Fergusson Island, he turned to the Indigenous community to help him find the elusive Auwo bird. Native guides helped him find and photograph the bird (last seen by Westerners in the 1880s) the very next day.

Ingrid Zabel ’87 is climate change education manager for the Paleontological Research Institution. She compiled data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Applied Climate Information System to track the decrease in snowfall in Ithaca over the past 50 years.
