Weill Cornell Medicine's Melissa Cushing says she hopes more young people will give blood. According to the American Red Cross, blood drives at schools and colleges have decreased by 62% since the start of the pandemic. "We really need to encourage the next generation to step up and become consistent blood donors in order to continue to serve our patients,” Dr. Cushing said.
