Join the extended Cornell Tech and Cornell Law School alumni communities for an engaging panel discussion, sponsored by The Cornell Club-New York, on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping legal practice. The panel will be hosted by Matthew D’Amore, Director of the Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship Program and Professor of the Practice at Cornell Tech and Cornell Law School and will feature leading legal scholars and practitioners driving innovation and transformation across the legal sector.
The conversation will conclude with a Q&A session and networking reception. This event is part of the Era of AI series, co-hosted by Cornell Tech and The Cornell Club-New York.

Matthew D’Amore, Director, Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship Program and Professor of the Practice Cornell Tech & Cornell Law School
Matthew D’Amore is a Professor of Practice at Cornell Tech and in the Law School at Cornell University, and currently serves as Director of the Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship Program. D’Amore comes to Cornell after a 20-year career at the international law firm of Morrison & Foerster, where he represented high technology and life-sciences clients in the resolution of complex intellectual property disputes and in licensing matters.
In addition to his work for technology clients, D’Amore has been recognized for his pro bono work in impact cases for children denied special education services and for citizens deprived of the right to vote, and has served as an adjunct professor at Cornell Law School.
Now at Cornell Tech, D’Amore brings his legal industry experience to the Cornell Tech community, teaching Technology Transactions and Trade Secret Law and Practice.D’Amore received his B.S., with distinction, from the Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, in biology and society, and his J.D. from Yale Law School.

Scott Rechtschaffen JD ’84, Chief Knowledge Officer, Littler Mendelson
As Chief Knowledge Officer, Scott Rechtschaffen supports Littler’s effort to provide innovative client services by integrating new technologies and work processes and enabling attorneys and clients to access the collective knowledge and experience of the firm’s over 1,900 attorneys. Scott heads the firm’s Knowledge Management Department, a team of 60+ professionals including dedicated, full-time knowledge management attorneys along with legal research specialists, writers, and content technology administrators. Scott previously served on Littler’s board of directors and is a current member of the firm’s AI Governance Committee.
Scott is the co-founder of ComplianceHR, an innovative joint venture launched in 2015 by Littler and Neota Logic, a legal software company. ComplianceHR leverages Littler’s experience and knowledge of employment law to provide a transformative suite of online compliance solutions. Scott has been an adjunct professor of law at Cornell Tech in New York City where he teaches a class on delivering legal services through technology.
For his achievements in knowledge management, Scott has been awarded the Distinguished Peer Award as KM Champion of the Year by the International Legal Technology Association. In 2014, he was named to the Fastcase 50 and the Financial Times named Scott among the ten most innovative lawyers in North America. That year, he also received an Innovator Award from The Recorder legal newspaper and the following year The Recorder awarded him for being a Serial Innovator. Scott was inducted as a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management, a peer-nominated honor bestowed on law practice management specialists, and currently serves on the College’s board of trustees.
Meredith Williams-Range, Chief Legal Operations Officer, Gibson Dunn
Meredith L. Williams-Range is Gibson Dunn’s Chief Legal Operations Officer. She is a C-level executive with over 20 years experience in legal operational efficiency. At Gibson Dunn, Meredith oversees and coordinates strategy for legal operations which helps to provide the strategic planning, portfolio management, project management, data management, and technology expertise that enables legal professionals to focus on providing legal advice. The expertise of the team includes (1) Risk & Cost Reduction; (2) Support Improved Profitable Revenue; (3) Improve Technology & Data Foundation; (4) Practice Operational Improvement; and (5) Innovation & Process Improvement.

Ms. Williams-Range received a Bachelor of Business Administration with concentration in Accounting followed by a Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis.
