Thousands of alumni return to the Hill for Reunion weekend
Over 7,300 alumni and guests returned to campus for Reunion 2024, representing several decades of Cornell classes—and arriving from as far away as Kenya and Australia.
The weekend was packed with more than 450 volunteer and university-driven events, including classic favorites like Cornelliana Night and the Olin Lecture; special exhibits and showcases; and newer gatherings like Redstock.
This year’s Reunion also featured President Martha E. Pollack’s final State of the University Address before her retirement on June 30.
Pollack structured her remarks around the list of six core Cornell values formalized under her tenure as president, illustrating each with recent achievements and points of progress from across the Cornell community.
She concluded her final address by underscoring the significance of Cornell’s values and achievements in the impact of its alumni. “The work of the university—the work of Cornell—has an impact that reverberates across nations and generations. It continues on in the lives of our alumni—generation after generation of Cornellians, who bring our Cornell ethos, and our Cornell values, out into the world with them.”
