The good Cornellians can do: Jessica (Rosenthal) Chod ’05

Jessica (Rosenthal) Chod ’05 is honored to serve on the board of the Strathmore Hall Foundation and support its mission to share arts and music with the whole community.

One foundation initiative is Bloom Arts Access, which focuses on expanding access to the arts for local schoolchildren. Kids in 2nd and 5th grades attend special field trips and performances at the historic Strathmore campus, and local elementary schools enjoy tuition-free arts enrichment and artist-in-residency programs.

Jessica recently attended a concert with students from the Montgomery County Public School District—many of whom had never before been in a venue the size of Strathmore. The concert incorporated both classical music and blues, which the kids are studying in their music classes.

“The energy in the concert hall was electric and contagious! The students were engaged for the whole concert,” she says.

Jessica is a partner at the Potomac Law Group in the firm's corporate practice, and in her free time she also volunteers as a director on the boards of the Jewish Book Council, Cornell’s ILR Alumni Association, and the Emory University Goizueta Business School's alumni board.

Cornellians around the globe are sharing how they do good in communities big and small. Share your own story.
