This drawing by artist Tim Makepeace ’84 is part of a solo exhibit at the National Academy of Sciences in DC. The exhibit celebrates the James Webb Space Telescope, scheduled to be launched on Dec 17, 2021. “Learning about this amazing machine, seeing it in person, and knowing that in two years it will be one million miles from earth orbiting the sun in tandem with the earth, imaging things that no human has ever before glimpsed, is inspirational,” Makepeace says in his statement about the work.
