The International Spirit of Zinck’s Night is an annual event for Cornellians around the world to celebrate Cornell. We encourage all area alumni to join us!

Come meet us as Cornell-family owned and operated, McGillin’s to celebrate all things Cornelliana!

History of Zinck’s Night:

Theodore Zinck was an Ithaca saloon owner whose pub, the Hotel Brunswick, was a popular haunt for Cornellians in the 1890s. When he died in 1903, a series of bars on and around Collegetown adopted his name over the years. The last one closed in the 1960s, and Cornellians started commemorating the spirit of Zinck’s Night by gathering on a Thursday night, once a year.

History of Location & Our Host:

Shortly after the Liberty Bell cracked and long before ground was broken for City Hall, McGillin’s Olde Ale House threw open its doors. Its beer taps have been flowing since 1860–making it the oldest continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia. McGillin’s has outlasted Strawbridge’s the Civil War and even Prohibition. McGillin’s celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010.

Chris Mullins, Cornell Class of 1997, is the the current owner and operator of McGillin’s. He has graciously invited us this year for this wonderful tradition.

Registration includes Cornell Alumni Owned Craft Beer and Wings. We hope to CU there!
