Come join your fellow Cornellians for a seated wine tasting featuring 10 wines. The tasting lasts approximately an hour, starting promptly at 3:30 p.m., though you may arrive early to enjoy their bar and outdoor terrace, and you can enhance the tasting by adding classic cheese boards ($14) or chocolate truffles ($10) to the base cost of the tasting ($20pp). The bar serves wines by the glass, flights, draft beers, cocktails, and more.
Crossing Vineyards and Winery is located on a 200 year old estate less than a mile from where George Washington crossed the Delaware River in 1776. Since its establishment, Crossing has earned many awards, including Best of Bucks for eight years in a row, and for the last 2 years has received Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence to its list of accolades.
For those who may wish to extend this CCGP event, you may add lunch or dinner on your own in one of the local charming Bucks County towns of Newtown, Yardley, or New Hope, all 10-15 min. drive from Crossing Vineyards. The closest would be Yardley, which is about 5 miles from Crossing Vineyards, and only 1 mile from I-95.
Two suggestions in Yardley would be The Cellar at Yardley General which has a “cozy bar with fine wine, sophisticated cocktails, and local beer in a tasting room that is full of cheer”; or The Vault, an excellent brewpub with “an atmosphere akin to the speakeasies of Philadelphia, with the brewery and wood-fired kitchen oven open to view, the brewery directly behind the bar and the kitchen adjacent to the dining tables. It’s decor is a combination of regal bank, stark industrial, old-world, and modern in an upscale, relaxed environment, serving a selection of tapas, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts. The beer lines run directly from the serving tanks behind the bar to serve via draft (traditional CO2), nitro (Guinness-style), or cask (low-carbonation, warmer, English-style).”
