The fate of North Atlantic right whales in an increasingly industrialized ocean

There are only about 360 North Atlantic right whales left in the world, and they live in our marine backyard along the east coast of North America.  They are headed toward extinction because of unsustainable mortality from industrial accidents like entanglement in fishing gear and ship strikes.  Dr. Mark Baumgartner has studied these whales for the past 25 years, and will share some of his research as well as what is being done to mitigate these harms and bring right whales back from the brink.
