This deeper-dive workshop is designed to empower participants to further explore and enhance their allyship skills. This workshop will help participants identify concrete allyship action items in their personal, professional, and mentoring relationships (e.g., minimizing and interrupting microaggressions; active listening; identity-conscious leadership development). Facilitators will engage participants in critical dialogue about their individual experiences with various identities, identify obstacles that stop them from being an active bystander, and highlight strategies to foster greater inclusion efforts. The workshop will include short video clips, case scenarios, small group work.

Facilitated by:

Shakima M. Clency, Peggy J. Koenig ’78 Associate Dean of Students for Student Empowerment and Director of First-Generation & Low-Income Student Support
