Mark Brandt Former Club President will be speaking to the club on his passion Triathlon.

Mark is a integral supporter of the CCNEO and all things Cornell. Mark has completed 17 half Ironman and two full IronMan events. He’s had 4 top 10 finishes and has been ranked in the top 120 in the world in his age group. He also qualified for the Half IronMan World Championships in Nice France and St, George Utah. Mark will talk about his career in triathlon and his restarting what at one point was called the Cleveland Triathlon. In an effort to communicate to the community that this is a totally new event Mark launched Tri CLE Rock Roll Run as completely reimagined event that sold out 600 spots in 2021 and will offer 1400 spots this year. The event starts behind the Great Lakes Science Center with a swim in North Coast Harbor then transitions in the shadow of the Mather Ship Museum to the Great completely Closed ShoreWay and finishes right near where we will meet at Edgewater Park! He also started a charity called Kids that Tri to bring our sport to kids grades 6-12! There will be some stories about that also. Mark is a 1986 Graduate of Cornell with and Agricultural Economics degree. In his day job, he leads the growth of RSM’s Family Office practice for the Great Lakes region. Mark has served in many rolls at Cornell but the two he is most proud of is being a multiple member of the University Council and between he and his father Richard Hotel Class of 1955 conducting CAAAN interviews in western suburbs of Cleveland for well over 50 years!
