The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art invites you to an exclusive, art-inspired evening for Cornell young alumni featuring celebrated collectors Joel ’55 and Sherry ’55 Mallin.

With remarks about the Johnson Museum’s contemporary art program by curator Andrea Inselmann.

Time: 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Location: The home of Joel and Sherry Mallin (Manhattan address provided upon registration)

Sherry and Joel Mallin are both graduates of Cornell’s Class of 1955, and have amassed one of the premier collections of contemporary art in this country. The Mallins serve on the Johnson Museum Advisory Council, and have made countless loans and gifts of artwork to the Museum over more than two decades. The evening will provide the opportunity to see a portion of the Mallins’ private collection and hear their stories about art, artists, and their life as collectors.

Andrea Inselmann has been curator of modern and contemporary art at Cornell University’s Herbert F. Johnson Museum since 2002. Inselmann holds an M.A. in cultural studies from the University of Texas at Austin. After participating in the Whitney Museum Independent Studies Program she served as assistant curator of photography at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas for seven years and was curator of exhibitions at the Kohler Arts Center in Wisconsin for another six years. Inselmann has organized over 120 solo and group exhibitions in all media of emerging and established, national and international artists.
