For this year’s Zinck’s Night we’ve invited Jesse Veverka, a documentary filmmaker with deep Cornell roots, to share with us some clips from his most recent project – Passfire, the definitive film and documentary series about fireworks – as well as some stories from his circuitous path from his time as a Cornell undergrad in Asian Studies and Economics, to a stint on Wall Street, a Masters in Aerospace Engineering again at Cornell, to the establishment of his own company and pursuit of his childhood passion for filmmaking and pyrotechnics.  Jesse grew up in Ithaca where his father taught alongside Carl Sagan in Cornell’s Astronomy Department, and he still makes Ithaca his base of operations today.  He speaks Japanese, Chinese and Korean and has traveled to over 80 countries as a filmmaker.
