“We’ll all have drinks at Theodore Zinck’s when I get back next fall!”  Zinck’s Night occurs on the third Thursday of October at meeting places around the world.  It’s a tradition that has been kept alive long after Theodore Zinck and his eponymous saloon faded from the streets of Ithaca.  Today, it’s a chance for alumni near and far to gather and celebrate the Cornell spirit.

The International Spirit of Zinck’s Night will arrive on Thursday, October 19, 2017. This year, please join Cornellians, Ivy League friends & family for a drink at Baxter Inn, Basement 152-156 Clarence Street, SYDNEY. Drinks at bar prices. From 6 pm.

Baxter Inn was recently ranked as one of the world’s 50 best bars.

On Clarence Street, look for the sign that says “Sprinkler room for 156 Clarence Street.” Take the walkway to an alley to find the doorman and the black velvet rope. Then go down a set of concrete stairs to a basement bar. Exposed wooden beams and metal supports, low lighting and blaring blues music help set the mood, along with boxing and horse-racing posters. The mixed-age crowd is decked out in suits and skirts or T-shirts and jeans.
