Join Human Ecology Young Alumni for a winetasting soirée!

Join the Human Ecology Young Alumni Council for an evening exploring fine wines with

Certified Sommelier, Laura Winter Falk, a graduate of Human Ecology and co-founder of Experience! The Finger Lakes. Laura will take us on a tour of the finest wines from France and the Finger Lakes, pairing six different wines with delicious cheeses, breads, and more. There will be door prizes and several copies of Laura’s books,The Culinary History of the Finger Lakes will be given away. Additional books will be available to purchase.

                     Human Ecology Young Alumni Council and the Alumni Association Board

COST:      $25 per person early bird (until 4/30), $35 per person starting May 1st

WHAT:     Enjoy a welcome wine and appetizers during the opening reception, 
                 followed by a program with Certified Sommelier, Laura Winter Falk, PhD, who will 
                 offer both a tasting and pairing of six wines from the Finger Lakes and France.

    Pairing – Smoked salmon on pumpernickel with lemon dill sauce, capers, pickled onion

Cabernet

Dr. Konstantin Franc Cabernet Franc, Keuka Lakes, Finger Lakes

Chateau Jaumard, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc, Bordeaux

    Pairing – A sandwich made with couronne bread (named after the French word for
    crown) and a fragrant mixture of olive oil, herbs and spices, filled with a variety of classic
    cold cuts, cured meats and cheeses.

Laura Winter Falk, is co-owner & President of
Experience! The Finger Lakes, a regional touring and events company that focuses on showing off the best that our region has to offer. She is a certified Sommelier and member of the Guild of Sommeliers. Laura holds a PhD in nutrition, is a frequent guest lecturer at Cornell and other regional colleges, and is author of the book The Culinary History of the Finger Lakes: From the Three Sisters, a history press publication
