Come join us in a morning of caring for our HK furry friends!  Our August volunteer activity is in partnership with Hong Kong Dog Rescue. HKDR was founded in 2003 for the specific purpose of saving dogs and puppies from the Hong Kong Government’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) Animal Management Centers, where around 7,000 dogs and puppies are destroyed every year.  More info here. The Group Orientation will include an introduction of the organization, in depth dog handling skills, kennel tour, dog walking experience and some safety regulations in the kennel. People attending this class would be HKDR’s registered volunteer and are welcomed to come in the future to collect their free t-shirt!

Location: Tai Po Homing Centre,  6 Shek Lin Road, Tai Po, Hong Kong (see attached directions to the centre)
Maximum participants: 16 people
Minimum age limit: 18 years or older (no exceptions)

Minimum donation amount: $100 or more (tax receipt can be issued at the center)

Reminder for participants:
– Wear casual or sports wear
– Do not wear dress, sandals, high heels, as participants will have a chance to walk the dogs
– Bring additional clothing if needed
– Bring sun block and mosquitto repellent if needed
– Do not bring any pets or kids to the centre
– Friends & family members are welcome as long as they are 18 yrs or older
