It’s the annual Holiday Happiness event!

Join us in supporting Helping Hands for Single Moms.

We invite you to become a holiday hero! Helping Hands for Single Moms is a community-based nonprofit that assists impoverished single mom-led families while the moms are pursuing a college education and financial independence. We’re going to support these mothers during the December holidays by providing gifts and gift wrapping assistance.

This is a two-part event. First, we’ll charge Cornellians $25 per person to register. The Club will use the funds raised to purchase gifts for our adopted mom’s son, based on her holiday wish lists of gifts for him, in advance of the gift-wrapping event on December 2nd. Secondly, on that day, we’ll bring our sleigh full of purchases to the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak. Those Holiday Heroes who contributed will then help the mom wrap the gifts we’ve brought for her child, while we listen to an inspiring program about the moms’ accomplishments in 2017. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the stories of these women who are working hard to create better futures for themselves and their families. And it’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit!

Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak
7677 N. 16th St.
Phoenix, AZ 85020

Limited to 20 attendees.

Our friends Rodo and Susan are adopting two moms, each with one child. We may also help them with some gift-shopping support and we may join in with their moms to help wrap the gifts on December 2nd.

Please register by November 24, 2017 so we have enough time to shop before the event on December 2. Last year we did an amazing job of snagging Black Friday bargains that allowed us to stretch our budget impressively far!

If you’d like to help shop for presents, please contact Julie Zagars: jnz1@cornell.edu

Your donation can be doubled since contributions are matched by Thrivent Financial.
