Look up at night! Ever wonder where all that came from? Where it’s all going? Then this webinar hosted by the Cornell Club of Mid-America is for you!

The presentation will introduce our current understanding of modern cosmology, or how our Universe works. We will focus on science goals of the Cornell-led CCAT Observatory (www.ccatobservatory.org), which is building the novel Fred Young Submillimeter Telescope at 18,400 feet elevation in Chile. We will describe the status of the telescope construction and the unique astronomical cameras we are building at Cornell as we prepare for multiple generations of observations in Chile.

Our speaker is Michael Niemack Ph.D. His research focuses on developing new instrumentation to study the formation and evolution of the universe through precision measurements of microwave radiation. Learn more!
