THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

Please join CWN New York City for an exciting day networking with other Cornell alumna and exploring the intersection of arts and technology at the Whitney Museum of American Art followed by an optional brunch to continue the conversation at Villanelle.

Claudine Maidique, ’94 will guide CWN members on a private visit of the “Programmed” exhibit at the Whitney from 11:00-12:30pm. From the curator: “Programmed: Rules, Codes, and Choreographies in Art, 1965–2018 establishes connections between works of art based on instructions, spanning over fifty years of conceptual, video, and computational art. The pieces in the exhibition are all “programmed” using instructions, sets of rules, and code, but they also address the use of programming in their creation. At a time when our world is increasingly driven by automated systems, Programmed traces how rules and instructions in art have both responded to and been shaped by technologies, resulting in profound changes to our image culture.”

The discounted admission for CWN members is good for the whole day. CWN members can choose to other areas of the Whitney or join the group afterwards for an optional brunch at Villanelle, an area farm to table restaurant owned by a Cornell alum.

Event registration fee does not include optional brunch at Villanelle. Attendees will be asked to confirm attendance at brunch and are responsible for restaurant charges.
