Cornell Women’s Network (CWN) is a grassroots alumnae network focused on connecting female Cornell graduates in their local communities by providing programming for them to interact and share insights on careers and other aspects of life after Cornell.
CWN in New York City invites you to our kick-off event hosted by Emelyn Northway ’07 at Of Mercer Clothing store in Downtown Manhattan.
Join our panelists for a conversation on the psychology behind dressing for success, and how our clothes can help us feel more confident in any professional setting. You’ll also walk away with tips and tricks on what to wear for every dress code, how to incorporate your personal style at work, and how to build a wardrobe that works for you.

Meet our speakers:
Emelyn Northway ’07 (Arts & Sciences)
Emelyn is the co-founder of Of Mercer, a brand of stylish career wear for women. She started the company in 2013 after she struggled to find fashionable, affordable, and quality work clothes while working in finance in NYC.
Since launching online in 2013, Of Mercer has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Forbes, and Refinery 29.
Prior to starting Of Mercer, Emelyn worked in investment banking and private equity in NYC. She has a BA in Economics and Psychology from Cornell and an MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Sheenah Hankin
British by birth, American by choice. Sheenah received a Ph.D. from International University. Her academic publications include several journal articles and book chapters. She co-authored Succeeding with Difficult Clients, a book for mental health professionals published by Academic Press. Her book, Complete Confidence: A Handbook, was published by Harper Collins in 2004
Sheenah Hankin was named by New York Times Magazine as one of the most popular therapists in New York. She is an expert on personality profiles and how they influence people’s decisions and actions. She believes we are born to be confident.
Sheenah is a business consultant to many corporations and individuals and she has a lot of multimedia experience. She is widely quoted in many popular magazines and newspapers such as Vogue, Elle, Allure, Cosmopolitan, Oprah Magazine, the New York Times, The Daily News, New York Post, among others.
