Recognize Joe Lucia and Celebration of Cornell Swimming and Diving
Saturday, September 2 – Sunday, September 3, 2023 – Ithaca, NY
You’re invited to an evening of celebration!
Joe Lucia retired from the pool in 2015 after 28 years as head coach for men’s swimming and diving. In addition, he was head coach for the women’s team for 15 years. He remains the all-time winningest coach for both the men’s and women’s programs. His retirement took him away from the pool deck, but not the program. His transition to alumni coordinator has set the foundation for both team’s success well into the future. Along with establishing the swimming and diving board, Loosh has been instrumental in raising funds for the team’s annual goal and increasing the program’s endowments. Since his retirement in 2015, with his guidance, the program has raised over 2.5 million in annual giving. Most recently he help steward the programs largest gift, establishing the endowment for the Philip H. Bartels ’71 Head Coach of Women’s Swimming.
Please join us on September 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. in Willard Straight Hall on Cornell’s campus to celebrate Cornell Swimming & Diving and the invaluable contributions of Joe Lucia
