In its third iteration on the Ithaca Campus, the 2018 Cornell Council for the Arts (CCA) Biennial will address the theme, “Duration: Passage, Persistence, Survival.  Timothy Murray, the Curator of the 2018 CCA Biennial, will unveil and describe the program of the CCA Biennial, which will run on the Ithaca campus from late August through early December, 2018.  The aim is to stage artistic environments that might provoke conversation about the persistence of passage, from environments to communities, while emphasizing the challenge of survival in hostile socio-ecological climates.

The sixteen art exhibitions, public installations, and performances across the campus will include featured international artists Carrie Mae Weems, Xu Bing, Richard Lin, Joanna Malinowska and C. T. Jasper, Ruby Chishti, Ni’Ja Whitson.  Murray will screen prototypes of the artworks, and discuss the design process of Weems’ featured outdoor installation on the Olin Library Terrace.
