The Orchards of Concklin: A behind-the-scenes look at Rockland’s Oldest Farm

Established in 1712, The Orchards of Concklin has provided Rocklanders with fresh, healthy farm produce for more than 300 years. In this behind-the-scenes tour, Cornell graduate (class of 1991) and president of the farm – Scott Hill — will explain their operations from growing acres of fruits and vegetables, to greenhouses full of flower/vegetable seedlings for gardeners, to baking mouth-watering fruit pies and running a Pick-Your-Own operation. Learn how apple cider is made, how the flavor of apples is preserved through Controlled Atmosphere Storage, and where the Concklins sell their produce at markets throughout the tri-state area. (Wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes, as part of the tour will include their refrigeration rooms).
