Sign up for a fun, festive and filling evening of Spanish wine, food and cultural exploration, hosted by Hank Zona (ILR ’82) of The Grapes Unwrapped, at Casa d’Paco (73 Warwick Street) in Newark’s Ironbound neighborhood. Casa d’Paco, open only four years, was just named the #7 restaurant and #1 bar in Northern New Jersey by Yelp! What better place for the #1 alumni club in Northern New Jersey to gather and have a selection of delicious tapas paired with a tasting of wines made from Spain’s finest indigenous grapes. Matthew Sola, (Arts,’80) is your Cornell Club of Northern NJ host.

The wines are generously provided by Victor Ordonez (ALS Viticulture -2016), and Monica Ordonez (ALS Viticulture- 2018) of Jorge Ordonez Selections. Based in Boston and established in 1987 by their father, Jorge Ordonez, recognized as one of the wine world’s greatest innovators in the past thirty years. Ordonez is a groundbreaking wine importer and producer, credited with preserving and promoting Spain’s rich history in grape growing and winemaking. Through Jorge Ordonez’ vision and hard work, Spanish wines do not just represent great values but some of the finest wines in the world. They have achieved this through a combination of adhering to and honoring tradition while integrating the latest in science and technology. (Monica Ordonez will be joining us to provide additional insights.)

As if that isn’t enough, there will also be live flamenco dance performances throughout the night. Bring appropriate footwear!
