Cornellian Laura Davis Produces Prize-Winning Documentary Burden of Genius
Burden of Genius, produced by Laura Davis and directed by Tjardus Greidanus, won Best Documentary at the Raw Science Film Festival 2019. It is an honor shared with Rory Kennedy’s new documentary, Above and Beyond, about NASA.

WHAT: Screening of Burden of Genius at the 2019 Raw Science Film Festival, which brings scientists and filmmakers together from around the world to celebrate science-themed storytelling.
WHEN: Saturday, January 26, 2019. Screening is at 3:40 pm, followed by a break, and a Q&A at 6:35 pm.
WHERE: The lavishly restored 1927 United Artists Theatre at the Ace Hotel, 929 S. Broadway, Los Angeles 90015 (DTLA).
WHO: Davis and Greidanus! And a great program of entertainment including Li’l Buck, the dancer in Apple’s AirPods commercial, who has collaborated with everyone from Yo-Yo Ma to Madonna, performing a “moonwalk” he created especially for the event, and special guests leading panels including the astrophysicist and Nobel laureate Kip Thorne.
