Award-Winning local artist and Cornell Alumna: Sally Jacobs

A Cornell Networking Brunch – FREE

Learn about Sally Jacobs’ fascinating career that took her from high school biology teacher to software entrepreneur to successful watercolor artist. She will share some of the secrets of her painting techniques and explain how she finds subjects for her artwork at the local farmers markets.  The event will be held at her home/studio and will feature a viewing of some of her recent works.  

Speaker:
Cornell alumna Sally Jacobs is a contemporary botanical artist who has exhibited in numerous juried shows in New York and San Francisco and at museums in New York, Minneapolis and Phoenix. She is a contributing member of the TAG Gallery in mid-Wilshire, shows there regularly, and is a member of the board. Her work was also featured on CNN in a segment of “Your Money” about the “new collectibles.”

She studied botanical art at Otis College of Art and Design and the New York Botanical Art Certification Program and has taught botanical illustration at the Getty Center, Otis College of Art and Design, and the Los Angeles Arboretum. She is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and the Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California.
