For Cornell Cares, the Cornell Club of Ithaca will be gathering and distributing food and other necessities for the Mutual Aid Tompkins food cabinets. Volunteers are needed! You can help by bringing items (please pay careful attention to the allowable items below) and/or distributing them to the neediest cabinets.

Please note that certain items cannot be accepted, especially items that freeze and thaw: any canned goods or glass jars that contain liquid, any moist product (such as pre-cooked pastas, beans, soups etc), fresh fruits and vegetables.

The best food items to donate are things that can freeze and thaw safely, such as bread, cereal, dried goods, cereal bars, raisins and other dried fruit, nuts, powdered milk, crackers, nut butters in plastic jars. Also much in need are cleaning wipes, toilet paper, diapers, feminine products, hand sanitizer, tissues, gloves, scarves, hats, hand warmers, etc.

Here are the addresses of the food cabinets typically most in need:
314 W State Street
Ithaca Free Clinic (521 W Seneca St)
307 W State St
Corner of Buffalo & Taughannock (806 W Buffalo St)
Southside Community Center (305 S Plain St)
RIBS (530 W Buffalo St)
Multicultural Resource Center (516 W State St)
West Village Apartments (2 cabinets) (150 W Village Pl)
Linderman Creek Apartments (201 Cypress Ct)
Baker Park (Elmira Rd and S Plain St)

The Freeville cabinets are neglected, for anyone who resides near that area. One of them is at Freeville Village Hall, 5 Factory St. This is the full list of food cabinet locations:
