Celebrate the International Spirit of Zinck’s Night in PHOENIX! You may be a couple thousand miles from Cornell, but on Thursday, October 20, you can feel just steps away from “The Hill.”

Join local Cornell alumni, parents, and friends to celebrate the long-standing tradition of the International Spirit of Zinck’s Night.

It’s a story worth re-telling… Theodore Zinck was a saloonkeeper in Ithaca and his pub, the Hotel Brunswick, was a popular gathering place for Cornellians in the 1890s. After his death in 1903, several bars using his name continued to provide a haven for students. When the last “Zinck’s” closed in the late-60s, celebrating the spirit of Zinck’s became a favorite Thursday night Collegetown tradition of undergraduates. It wasn’t long afterwards that Cornellians continued the tradition in their hometowns around the world!

This year, alumni will celebrate this uniquely Cornell event in more than 90 cities globally. Wherever you are, raise a pint to toast your days at Cornell this October 20th. Oh yea, don’t forget to share your Zinck-stash! (to info@cornellclubaz.org).

So, if you are in the Phoenix area on Thursday, October 20th, plan to celebrate Zinck’s Night with your Cornell friends at The Porch in Tempe, a retro-inspired hangout offering creative pub food, cocktails, games, an array of TVs for watching sports, and a great outdoor space to socialize. Come in and kick back. Reacquaint or meet anew. Spend the evening with your fellow Cornellians. $15 per person (includes one house drink, tax, and tip).
