The Beacon is a local, non-profit, homeless services organization which provides daily services plus legal aid and counseling to help end homelessness in our city.

This year we will be hosting a toiletry drive to benefit The Beacon, culminating at this hands-on volunteer event where we will be helping break down bulk toiletry items into individual-use containers. This is a vital service for The Beacon’s clients: with 4 private shower cabins offering an average of 75 showers per day, 5 days a week, having ready-to-use toiletries makes a real difference in clients’ daily routines. 

In order to be as efficient as possible, The Beacon suggested we purchase the “bulk” hygiene items (and bring them with us).  We will portion out these items into 2 oz containers for any clients who are showering so they can select exactly which toiletry they need.  

Additional information regarding what/how to purchase items (so we have a variety), along with directions, parking, etc. will be provided once we receive your RSVP. The group is limited to 20 people, ages 13+, so RSVP ASAP to secure your spot! 

As with all our volunteer events, our shift will be followed by lunch.
