Event Details

Location: Irvine, CA

CAAAN is composed of Cornell alumni who serve as enthusiastic ambassadors to prospective students and families in all 50 states and at least 50 nations across the globe. Alumni ambassadors are important to Cornell’s admissions recruitment efforts as they call or meet individually with freshman applicants, staff college fairs, and attend local receptions for admitted and entering students.

CAAAN members not only share their experiences and information about Cornell, but also help to personalize the admissions process for thousands of candidates each year.  The contact phone calls, Skype, or individual meetings with applicants are not interviews. They are informal contact meetings that actually serve to personalize and market Cornell to potential students. As a CAAAN volunteer, you are assigned as few or as many contact meetings as you want. Contact with the applicant by phone or Skype is acceptable when an in-person meeting cannot be arranged.  Following the contact with the applicant, there is a brief on line report that is submitted directly to Cornell Admissions through the CAAAN website.  Most write ups are a single paragraph comprised of 3 to 5 sentences.

We will hold a training session with a Cornell Admissions staff person for new CAAAN members on October 22 in Irvine. In addition, information is available to you along with a form for volunteer sign up on the CAAAN website.

If you would be interested in joining CAAAN in Orange County, please complete the enrollment form found on the CAAAN website.  Please let me know if you have any questions about the Orange County CAAAN program at delliott35@gmail.com.
