Come spend the day blowing glass with fellow Cornell Alumni at a professional glass blowing studio – Slow Burn in Oakland.  Learn the art form of glassblowing in this class, Instructed by CEO Bryan and his jolly team.

The venue is a professional 2300 square foot production shop with two “glory holes” and a 500 pound furnace. Work with glowing, molten glass, followed by flame-polished finishing of your personal creation.

This class is ideal for those who are interested in learning about the glassblowing process and thrive in a learning environment that emphasizes hands-on, learn-by-doing teaching style. In the class session, student artists create their own blown glass art work of a solid paperweight and a beer mug or stem drinking glass.

Absolutely no experience or artistic background will be assumed, but the instructors are able to accommodate more advanced students as well as beginners. Your glass creation will be available for pickup after a 48 hour annealing process or you can opt for a shipment to you (at additional cost).

Schedule: There are 3 separate sessions max 10 participants per session.  But feel free to come early or stay late to watch others go through the class, tour the cold-working facilities or ask questions.  Join the group for an optional a la carte lunch or just come for your individual session, whatever is best for you.

Each session begins with a 15 minute sign-in & orientation by Bryan & his team, followed by 2 hours of hands-on instruction.
