The Cornell Club of Maryland will close its series of Big Red Bookcase discussions for the year with a discussion of Kurt Vonnegut’s “Player Piano” on Dec. 1, 2026. “Player Piano” tells the tale of “engineer Paul Proteus, who must find a way to live in a world dominated by a supercomputer and run completely by machines,” chillingly relevant as we live through our own AI Revolution today.

As in the past, we will meet on Zoom and spend a weeknight discussing the novel. CCMD members as well as friends and family are invited to join — even if not having finished reading. A Zoom link will be shared along with registration confirmation.
