“Race and Place in Kansas City in the 21st Century” Councilman Quinton Lucas’ talk will tie together some historic facts and will include some of the recent conversation in Kansas City (see article here).  A professor of law at the University of Kansas, Lucas (Cornell Law ’09) will add in a legal discussion with issues on KC School District desegregation and modern legal rights challenges from Black Lives Matter to affirmative action policy. He will tie it all together with a discussion of several current political challenges—infrastructure, workforce, and affordable housing–in Kansas City.
