Event Details

DATE: Thursday, June 15, 2023
TIME: 6 PM
COST: Free
LOCATION: The Chive Cafe/Transparent Brewery (14501 White Ave. Grandview, MO)

The Cornell Club of Mid-America is pleased to introduce our new pop-up series: CCMA About Town! Every so often, expect an email inviting you to join a club member for a favorite meal or activity (or both) at various spots around Kansas City. We are hoping to provide a wide variety of events at a range of price points and to explore different areas of town, so if you have an idea and/or would like to spearhead an event, please let Marty know at mhl24@cornell.edu.

Our inaugural event will be held at The Chive, Simply Good Cafe and Transparent Brewery: https://chivetransparent.com/ on Thursday, June 15th at 6. Your hosts are Stacy ’90 and Allen ’87 Wright.

It’s a brewery/farm to table restaurant combination. Food is purchased at the counter, so we don’t have to order at the same time. We are hoping to sit outside, but will make an audible, based on the weather. Stacy and Allen say both the food and the beer are delicious, and that you will recognize them in their Cornell shirts. If 6 pm isn’t great for you, come later, we will hang out and drink for a bit before we eat – and likely afterwards, too.

Address is 14501 White Ave. Grandview, MO
For those of you who haven’t ventured into Grandview before, it is eight minutes east of State Line and 135th St. If you are coming from the north, it is at the intersection of 71 and Highway 150 (what 135th St. becomes in MO).

There is no fee, but the Wrights want to know how many tables to hold. Please be sure to register by clicking the button at the top of the page. Last minute is fine: this place is casual. We are looking forward to this and more CCMA About Town events!
