Event Details

Location: Los Angeles, CA

This hike to Mt. Hollywood will start at 7:45am instead of our usual 6:45 am summer start time.  So you’ll have 2 extra hours of sleep due to both the later start time and the clocks being turned back.  This hike is a 5 to 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being most difficult).  We’ll begin by ascending the Bird Sanctuary trail to enjoy the walk in the clouds as quickly as possible. Eagle-eye views of Hollywood, Glendale, Burbank, up and down the coastline, Catalina (on a very clear day), the San Gabriel Mountains and flowing traffic (or clogged) on the maze of freeways below.  From Mt. Hollywood, overlooking the Observatory, we’ll walk  down Hogback Trail finishing around the golf course at Vermont Ave. in front of the Greek Theatre.  20 yards to the left  is the Roosevelt Café, (2650 N. Vermont Ave.) where we’ll have an optional no-host breakfast.  Bring at least (2) 17-oz bottles of water, a hat and a good sun block. This hike is DOG FRIENDLY!
