Diwali, or Deepawali, gets its name from the Sanskrit word deepavali, which means “row of clay lamps.” Many people in India will light these lamps outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness, in tune with a holiday that is an ode to the triumph of good over evil. Please join the Cornell Asian Alumni Association (CAAA) for a wonderful Diwali Celebration on Sat, Oct 29, from 12-2 p.m. at Jackson Diner at 37-47 74th Street, Queens, NY 11372, a fabulous Indian restaurant, that even has famous people such as Hilary Clinton going back for more Indian food!

The cost for the event covers food, gratuity, and tax for a total of $39.95. Any beverages or additional food items will be added separately to your bill. Please choose from the following menu below for 1 appetizer, 1 entree, and 1 dessert. Once you make your final selection, it will be difficult to make additional changes, unless necessary for food allergies, gluten sensitivity, or vegetarian/vegan needs.
