Join the Cornell Asian Alumni Association for our fourth annual Diwali festival, celebrated in hybrid format this year!

Diwali is the festival of lights, and one of the largest celebrations in India. The Cornell Asian Alumni Association is hosting Diwali, in two locations to allow more alumni to participate in this event.

Event Details:
NYC Date: Saturday, November 13, 2021
NYC Location and Time: 6:30pm ET to 8:30pm ET at Kapoor Galleries

Entrance Fee: $30.00
Food, drinks, and artisanal chocolate included with entry.

Virtual Location and Time: 5:00 p.m. ET to 7:00 p.m. ET on Zoom
Fee: Free

Proceeds from the celebration will support the Asian and Asian American Center (A3C), with help from Michael Harney’77 and Harney and Sons Fine Teas. All sales from our tea packages will be donated to the A3C this year.

Holiday packages of artisanal chocolate are available for purchase from Tache Artisan Chocolate, and 2021 CAAA face masks as well.

Note: When registering, you’ll be asked to RSVP for the location you are planning to attend. You can choose to RSVP for one or both events if you so wish. RSVP’s to the NYC location are limited to the first 40 registrants, to abide by COVID-19 safety guidelines.

If your plans change, just let us know! There will be a waitlist available for the NYC location.

Note: Under the Key to NYC guidelines, cultural institutions and museums are requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination and ID at the door.

Artisanal Chocolate Samplers by Tache Artisan Chocolate

The owner of Kapoor Galleries, Sanjay Kapoor will also be present to give information on the gallery’s selection of artworks from India, Nepal, Tibet and Southeast Asia.

Vegetarian Dinner Option:

Items will be served in individual containers for COVID-19 safety compliance. Please choose your dinner option at registration.

The virtual portion of the event is free and open to all current students, alumni, family, and friends of Cornell!

Registrants can buy tea, chocolate, and masks for themselves, as well as for their children on campus or their friends and family. It will be shipped directly to them.
