company. We are pleased to invite you to the first-ever Diwali dinner hosted by the Cornell Asian Alumni Association in Washington D.C!

Please join your fellow alumni in celebrating the festival of lights. You’ll get to learn all about the culture and
traditions of Diwali with a delicious 7-course Indian meal! 

We are honored to be have Dr. Herbert Acquay, Retired Practice Manager,
Environment, Water Resources and Climate Change Unit, South Asia for the World Bank to join us as our distinguished speaker. Herbert was the
World Bank’s Manager for the Environment, Water Resources and Climate Change Unit for South Asia, based in New Delhi, from 2010- 2015.
During this period, he oversaw the Bank’s work on the development and implementation of the Bank’s portfolio on the environment and natural
resources management in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. Herbert joined the World Bank in 1993 through
its prestigious Young Professionals Program and he had since held senior technical level positions in the Bank’s operations in East Asia, Africa,
and Global Units. Herbert holds a Ph.D. Degrees in Natural Resource Policy and Management from Cornell University.

REGISTRATION PRICE: $36 (Includes 7 course Indian buffet dinner with two drink tickets).

DRESS CODE: Festive, formal or business casual.

DIRECTIONS: Accessible by Metro via Red Line stops at
Tenleytown or Friendship Heights. There is plenty of parking around the restaurant as well. The event is on the 2nd floor. Please note there is no
elevator access.
