To celebrate Cornell Cares Day, a group of Cornell Alumni will be gathering at the Embarcadero YMCA to help with a KEEN basketball clinic.

KEEN’s mission is to provide free recreational opportunities to children and young adults with disabilities by pairing them with trained volunteers for fun, noncompetitive activities.  

The Basketball Clinic allows athletes and their coaches to work on dribbling, ball handling, shooting, and passing drills. The session ends with everyone coming together in a circle and sharing with the group what they did that day “that made them very Proud.” Athletes burn energy, meet and interact with new volunteers, see old friends, and then rejoin their parents, who have had some precious respite time.

Registration fees cover the cost for volunteer registration. To show your alumni spirit, each volunteer will also get a Cornell Cares Day t-shirt. Register by December 16 to select your t-shirt size (alumni who register after December 16 will receive a men’s L).

Important Information
•KEEN pairs each coach with an athlete, so attendance is imperative. If something comes up and you need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible.
•Please wear sneakers and clothes you are comfortable running in.
•No basketball experience is necessary.
