Many refugees arrive to the US with next to nothing.  Help them rebuild their lives by contributing items to a Welcome Kit that will provide them the essentials to help them begin again with hope and honor.

We will arrive at the HWR office with our contributions (see attached list) and a representative will speak with our group about what the organization does.  We will also help assemble the Welcome Kits, which includes creating cards/notes for the refugees.  Then we will have time for a tour of the warehouse.

Please purchase these items as NEW/excellent condition items. Please no used dining ware, silverware, or linens. Please also tape the top of liquid bottles so that they don’t spill. (If you look at the welcome kit flyer, we are responsible for Kitchen Kits 1 and 2.  Please sign up for an item here to make sure we get everything.)  If you do not have time to buy something yourself, you can ask Genesis Longo to buy something for you and you can pay her back via Venmo/Zelle.

Other needed items which do not need to be new, but can be gently used include:  lamps (floor lamps preferred), small kitchen appliances (e.g., rice cooker, coffee maker, toaster), vacuum cleaners, tablecloths (all sizes) and soccer balls.
