The Crow Museum of Asian Art was established in 1998 on Flora Street in downtown Dallas to give the public access to objects from primarily East Asia. Cornell’s own alum, Natalia Di Pietrantonio, Ph.D., is the museum’s curator, and she will take us behind the scenes. Natalia will give us a tour of the museum and provide a discussion on Mingei, which can be translated as ‘art of the people’ or Japanese folk art. Her talk will also focus on the Crow’s upcoming new museum opening at the University of Texas Dallas campus and the expansion of the museum’s collection.
