You are invited to join the Cornell Alumni Association for a community service event at Promising Pages followed by a social gathering at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB), in South End, Charlotte. At Promising Pages, volunteers will help with processing incoming book donations including counting, cleaning, stamping and sorting books.

A $5 per person or donation of gently used/new books is requested by Promising Pages and can be made on the date of the event. Children age 6+ are welcome to volunteer.

This registration form is for the volunteer event only. All alumni are welcome to join us at OMB, whether or not you can attend the volunteer activity.

Promising Pages is a nonprofit organization that inspires underserved children to achieve their dreams by instilling a love of reading. Fueled by studies showing that children who can’t read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school, Promising Pages provides innovative classroom programs and more than 100,000 free books annually, making us Charlotte’s largest and most efficient distributor of upcycled books aimed at addressing this critical – and solvable – community need.

Alumni will gather at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery at 3:15 pm. OMB is located at 4150 Yancey Rd, Charlotte, NC 28217.
