A Matter of Taste: A Sensory Evaluation of Wine
July 12, 2017 @ 6:00 pm
The Cornell Club of Central Virginia presents: A Matter of Taste: A Sensory Evaluation of Wine
You rely on your senses every day – but what do you know about them, especially when it comes to wine tasting? Is the wine balanced, buttery, earthy, flinty, silky, or velvety? Only your senses can tell. Test those senses while tasting some wines along with light hors d’oeuvres.
Join us on Wednesday, July 12 at 6:00 PM to meet Cornell Enology Professor Anna Katharine Mansfield who will talk about the many interactions in wine perception and when you should (or shouldn’t) follow your nose.
Professor Mansfield started in the wine industry in North Carolina and has advanced degrees from Virginia Tech and University of Minnesota (UM). She served as the first Enology Project Leader at the University from 2001 to 2008.
This event is open to Cornell as well as Ivy League alumni, currently enrolled students and those accepted for the class of 2021, and their friends and families.
