The McClintock Letters show what’s possible when we act together. Led by Cornell graduate students, the project inspired hundreds of scientists to share their stories in hometown newspapers across the country. This effort connects research to the everyday lives of readers, and it launched a new organization—the Scientist Network for Advancing Policy coalition.

Scientists are speaking up:

Personal stories like these unite us. They show how science quietly but profoundly shapes our lives—from the weather report we check each morning to the food that nourishes us and the medicines that fight disease.

Tell us how you’ve taken action

Legislators are listening!

Over the weekend, the full Senate passed (87-9) the Agriculture Appropriations bill, which fully funds agriculture research and extension programs. And, last week, the Senate Appropriations Committee approved an increase for NIH—rejecting the White House’s proposed 40% cut.
