Sustainability at Reunion 2025

You can look at sustainability-oriented Reunion events on the schedule of events.

Alumni Affairs is committed to minimizing the energy footprint of Reunions. We are happy to offer online registration, electronic confirmations, and minimal print materials.

We hope you’ll join us in spreading a culture of sustainability at Cornell! These are easy steps you can take while on campus for Reunion:

  • Food: Cornell is proud to partner with Friendship Donations Network, located at 1013 West MLK Jr./State St. in Ithaca. Reunion classes and groups donate perishable and non-perishable food items, water and juice, paper products, and decorations after Reunion.
  • Energy: When not in use, unplug your phone chargers, lamps, fans, and other electronics in your room.
  • Transportation: If feasible, consider walking or taking one of our Reunion shuttle buses that circulate routes on North, West, Central, and Collegetown campus areas. Shuttles are free of charge to guests wearing a Reunion 2026 button. In addition to shuttles, guests wearing a Reunion button can ride TCAT routes 10, 81 & 82  free of charge. For electric vehicles, there are 10 dual-port Level 2 ChargePoint stations on campus available on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to posted time limits and permit/payment requirements. Users must download the ChargePoint app to access the stations. For additional information and station locations, please visit the Electric and Green Vehicle Parking website.
  • Waste: One of the most important things to know is that recycling must be clean to be properly recycled. Be sure to wipe out containers and put materials in the landfill bins when in doubt. Cornell offers single stream recycling, so all paper, cardboard, plastics (#1, 2, and 5 only), metal, and glass can be recycled in any blue recycling bin.
  • Water: Help us reduce our waste by carrying your own reusable water bottle and travel mug. The map below highlights the locations of water filling stations on campus.
