Memorial scholarship honors late veterinarian, Dr. Julie R. Butler DVM ’83

The College of Veterinary Medicine has established the Julie R. Butler, D.V.M. ’83, Memorial Scholarship to honor the late veterinarian and her contributions to the field. Butler started her own practice in Harlem, the only Black-owned veterinary practice in the region at the time, and became a mentor to many young people throughout her career. She passed away in April 2020 after battling COVID-19.
