Sustainability at Reunion 2025

The Cornell Alumni Association is committed to minimizing the energy footprint of Reunions. We are happy to offer online registration and electronic confirmations to reduce print materials.
We hope you’ll join us in spreading a culture of sustainability at Cornell! These are easy steps you can take while on campus for Reunion:
- Food: Cornell is proud to partner with Friendship Donations Network, located in the Just Be Cause Center at 1013 West MLK Jr./State St. in Ithaca. Reunion classes donate perishable and non-perishable food items, water and juice, paper products, and decorations after Reunion. Consider donating any of these items before your leave campus. It helps those in need, eliminates waste, and lightens your load when packing up to return home.
- Energy: When not in use, unplug your phone chargers, lamps, fans, and other electronics in your room.
- Transportation: If feasible, consider walking or taking one of our Reunion shuttle buses that circulate routes on North, West, Central, and Collegetown campus areas. Shuttles are free of charge to guests wearing a Reunion 2025 button. In addition, guests wearing a Reunion button can ride TCAT route 81 & 82 route stops free of charge. There are electric vehicle charging stations on campus, which have a three-hour charging limit. Three (3) Level Two dual-port ChargePoint EV charging stations are available on the third level of the Forest Home parking garage, and one (1) Level Two dual-port ChargePoint EV charging station is located on the first level of the Hoy Road parking garage (MAP). Spaces are first-come, first-served. If you have questions about using the EV charger or obtaining a permit, please contact Transportation Services.
- Waste: One of the most important things to know is that recycling must be clean in order to be properly recycled. Be sure to wipe out containers and put materials in the landfill bins when in doubt. Cornell offers single stream recycling, so all paper, cardboard, plastics (#1, 2, and 5 only), metal, and glass can be recycled in any blue recycling bin. Here’s a great overview of our recycling policies.
- Water: Help us reduce our waste by carrying your own reusable water bottle and travel mug. The below map highlights the locations of water filling stations on campus.
