Event Details

This is a reminder of the great opportunity for Cornell alumni in Minnesota who are looking to connect with fellow graduates through the love of reading. The Cornell Club of Minnesota’s Book Club offers the perfect opportunity to engage with like-minded alumni, explore diverse literary works, and build meaningful connections. We meet on the second Wednesday of each month (typically virtually), and this book club welcomes 4-6 (and hopefully more) alumni readers for stimulating discussions that bridge the gap between your Cornell memories and current interests.

Upcoming book selections:

Wednesday 5/13/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central (tentative): “Precipice” by Richard Harris (2024; 464p) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/199820684-precipice This book blends history and fiction in the story of Venetia Stanley’s affair with Prime Minister H. H. Asquith during World War I, where intimate letters and political secrets intertwine in a scandal that threatens both love and government.

Wednesday 6/10/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central (tentative): “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick (2022; 353p) https://goodreads.com/book/show/58884736-the-measure This book imagines a world where everyone receives a box revealing how long they’ll live, forcing individuals and societies to confront how knowledge of mortality shapes meaning, choice, and connection.

Wednesday 7/8/26 at 7:30 p.m. Central: “Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir (2021; 476p) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/54493401-project-hail-mary

We might also meet in person in June or July (TBD), though May will be virtual. We hope to see you virtually or in person soon!
